Super Eagles B found the net in the 79th minute and netted once again in the dying moments of regulation time, ending the game at 2-2 on aggregate.
However, it was not enough as Ghana booked their place in Algeria through penalties. Annor Walker’s men scored all five penalties whilst Nigeria missed one.
Ghana won the first leg 2-0 thanks to goals from Daniel Afriyie Barnieh and Suraj Seidu in the first leg.
They have now qualified to the CHAN tournament for the first time since 2014 where they finished second
The main tournament will commence in Algeria from January 8 to February 5 2023It is the second time this year that Ghana have qualified for a major tournament at the expense of Nigeria, following the Black Stars’ 2022 World Cup play-off victory over the Super Eagles in March.
