Lucas Yelabeyani Yaro Yirezeme from Talensi land made a donation to the Tongo Girls Model school at Wakii. The donations included a volleyball Net, Two volley balls and a set of jersey.
He said, I have a passion for volleyball and have been playing the game since my youthful age as a student of Talensi land. However, we couldn’t develop our potentials fully because of lack of facilities such as volleyballs , nets , jerseys, coaching etc.
He added, i visited the Girls model school a couple of months ago and noticed that the school had a volleyball court but from the look of the court no sporting activities had taken place there for a while, so I enquired from the sports Master Mr. Emmanuel Anafo and he listed some of the challenges that they were facing in the school.
Today is a great day for me to give back to my community in a form of donations to develop the capacity and competence of the youth in our community.
Sports promotes both physical and mental health and also empowers children to recognize and further strengthen their potentials in their areas of interest.
As a Son of of Talensi, this is my personal contribution towards helping to unlock and develop sports talents in our Land. Talensi is blessed with great talents and I’m very hopeful that my small contribution will go a long way to impact and inspire the girls in the school and the entire community as a whole.
Long live Tongo Girls Model School
Long live Talensi
Long live mother Ghana.
